Cut the Rope is a logic-based puzzle game where the task is to guide a piece of candy into the mouth of a small green character positioned somewhere on the screen. The candy is tied to ropes, and the player cuts them by swiping in specific places. Gravity causes the candy to swing, fall, or bounce depending on the timing and angle of the cuts. Some levels include optional stars placed in hard-to-reach areas. Collecting these stars is not required to complete a level but adds to the overall score.

Interaction and Game Mechanics

Different levels include elements that influence how the candy moves. These range from air pumps that push the candy in certain directions, to floating bubbles that change its vertical position. The player has to decide when to cut the rope, and how to interact with these tools in sequence. Timing is a major factor, especially in stages with moving parts or rotating platforms. The game gives no control over the candy itself, so all influence comes from external actions like cutting, tapping, or triggering objects.

Stages are grouped into sections, each adding new rules or obstacles. These might include electric traps, teleporting portals, or spiders that try to steal the candy.
